People Love Video, But Will They Share Yours?

Video marketing is an absolute must for the online entrepreneur . Videos are a great way to get other people to spread the message about your business. Video is probably the most viral of the various media methods, because people get more excited about videos.

Taking some time to study both popular and unpopular videos shows just what you have to do to create content that is contagious and makes your videos go viral. The following characteristics are found in many popular videos that attract a lot of free attention and business, so make sure to include them in your next video.

Provide Value

If your information is valuable and interesting enough, people will want to share it. One of the main reasons why videos go viral is that they give away extremely valuable information for free.

Think about the last time you stumbled across a blog post that was recorded in video, and also written. Though the message was the same in text and video, the video probably reached out to you on a much deeper level. You may have even watched the video rather than taking the time to read the written blog post.

Keep It Short

One survey revealed in the New York Times showed that 19% of people watching videos online go away after just 10 seconds. A full 44% of viewers had left by the one minute point. Be creative, thought-provoking and make great content, but make sure it’s short and to the point.

Be Positive

In general, positive videos are shared more often than content that brings us down or makes us sad. The quality of your content definitely matters. No one is going to share a video that doesn’t move them in some way, inform them or help them solve a big problem.

Be Relevant

Videos go viral because they are well-timed. That’s why a viral video rarely lasts for more than a few days or weeks. Sometimes it only lasts for a few minutes or hours. Brushing up on your current events will help you create videos that tie into things people are talking about right now.

Create An Attention Grabbing Headline

Nobody will watch your video in the first place if you don’t get them to click on your headline. Headlines with numbers, “how to” headlines, and list headlines are excellent for getting people to view your video.

When a video goes viral it gets passed from person to person and can continue on and on for a very long time. Make sure that your business doesn’t miss out on the opportunities provided by video marketing.
